   Official synopsis: Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something... unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don't kill him first, that is.

“So the dickhead had a name. Daemon—seemed fitting.”

The chitter chatter involved with this book was mind-blowing, like literally and from the responses of  other book-crazy reviewers mad me literally jump the train into the Luxen fandom.

Obsidian being the first in the whirlwind series by the amazing Jennifer L. Armentrout, starts with Katy an all-round normal teenage American girl who moves to the 'Boring' small town of west Virginia, where she meets the formidable Daemon Black and his bubbly sister, however, Katy soon realizes that there are dark secrets at work surrounding both Daemon and his sister, especially with random teens disappearing around every corner. Katy's normal life soon turns into an extraterrestrial roller-coaster.

There are many aspect of this book that I found enjoyable and would surly make you drop everything coursework, studying, even a baby. That's right its that good! Throughout the entire book it was difficult with finding a favourite character as they were all  "Awesome"and felt so realistic  now even through I loved Daemon! But who doesn't, right?  I would have to say I would have to say that Katy tops my list as my favourite character as she has a strong personality that doesn't seem to slip throughout the whole book, plus even though Daemon acts a complete tool she handles him with the help of her sassy attitude. Another, entertaining part of  this particular book was the plot  as even after reading the blurb you start to  think that the book has lost all mystery soon get blown from the water as there are many elements that will still make you gasp and squeal like a teenage fangirl, even with the very fast paced action. All together my favourite scenes from this book as it was so hard trying to pick one I went for all of them was the Daemon and Katy interaction scenes as they were well written showing the tense nature of their relationship at first and  how it bloomed into something more, also, these scenes involved so much dry humour that it was continuously funny even when it was meant as an insult towards Katy (mostly.).

Definitely a must read for lovers of YA paranormal romance! That can only be described with two word HOLY. HOTNESS.
